Any alternative to the lousy rear window clips?
So I had to replace both rear windows' arm clips within a year after buying the car with new clips. Seems incredible to me that such a well engineered car could use such a lousy way to attach the arm to the window rail. Yesterday, a mere year after I installed the new clips, one broke off, and I guess the other one will follow suit pretty soon. I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a better way to attach the arm to the window rails. I'm thinking of just getting rid of the stupid clips altogether, just bend the arm into the rail and put up with a little click here and there, but not worry about the clips anymore... Any suggestions?

I ground off the rivet that the plastic piece attaches to and replaced it with a properly fitting bolt with washers on it that fit in the slide.

well engineered? some yes some no. MB is an equal opportunity employer: for every genius engineer, they hire a retard engineer. there is alot to be impressed about w/ these cars, and alot of stupid $#!+ as well. personally, i think a gm A body from 66-72 is a much better car than most of the deucheland crap. may not go 400,000 miles, but easy to fix and less little stupid stuff to break in the first place.
