Aux Coolent Pump Hose Part Number
I used this thread
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/269469-name-hose.html?highlight=aux+water+pump+hose to figure out which hose I need for my TD. I went to napa and they gave me the aux pump to engine hose for a w126 gasser... Just figured that out with a part number search. The hose listed in the above thread is the wrong one too. A search for the aux pump to engine hose for my '85 TD comes up with nothing. What is the part number so I can find the hose locally? Can't drive my wagon without it. Thanks |
Ok well I forgot to do fastlane searches in addition to AllPartsExpress. This is the hose...

I want a new one this weekend and I don't want to pay more for shipping than the hose costs. Thanks |
I remember having a hard time finding that hose also a few years back. I believe it is incorrect or missing in the parts book. My local dealer had a really good parts guy who was able to come up with it. I bet Phil or Roy could find it. As I recall, that is an odd hose, smaller on one end than the other.
|
Yes it is hard to find. I think maybe I can make one with one of those brass fittings in the Lowes plumbing department that is smaller on one side than the other. That would work for now... I am replacing some hoses, water pump, thermostat so I can then start working on the a/c. Thanks
|
I think I might have the MB part #. I bought one a few yrs ago and kept the sticker that came on the hose, and I listed it as "from engine to aux water pump for 85 300D "J" hose" 123 832 50 93.
I hope this helps Charlie |
I thought I would finish this thread up in case someone else has the same problem.
This was the hose I needed. The part number off the hose is 1238929194 http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...shedd/R1-1.jpg The problem http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...shedd/R1-2.jpg The solution. Brass fitting from Lowes.. it's used for that plastic plumbing pipe. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...shedd/R1-3.jpg The solution http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...shedd/R1-4.jpg Installation http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...shedd/R1-5.jpg Small crimp in the hose near aux pump. I just bent the aux pump bracket towards the fender to let the crimp out. The bracket is quite springy. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...shedd/R1-6.jpg |
This is the hose my 85 300D uses, same one you linked to in a above post.
http://img.eautopartscatalog.com/live/W01331633703.JPG Totally different than the one you show. so I guess the TD and D are different? Charlie |
The TD has a different head.
|
I know the head is different, but that is only for the SLS pump mounted to the front.
The water pump housing is the same. this is the hose from the housing to the aux water pump. the hose picture I posted, the "J" hose fast lane part# W0133-1633703 is NLA or stocked. this one might be a Calif 85 hose only, which mine is. In All Part express this hose comes up for the 300D part# mbz01-3370 $26.73 nothing for the 300TD http://12.153.160.115/images/catalog/tn/1238327394.jpg Charlie I was double checking my self, and now in Fast Lane the "J" hose is listed:confused: things change from one minute to the next with in a few minutes. . |
Yeah and those numbers are the same according to the epc. The hose "from the recirculating pump to return line" are different.
|
You can tell I got tired of tracking down the hose and made one. I have yet to see a picture of one online that looks like mine, if I did I would buy it and keep it around till the one I made failed. So far so good... not even a hint of leaking.
|
Call Phill, give him your Vin#, and I bet he can find it. Or call the dealer, might have to bend over to get it ;).
