Freaky heater stuff. Help!
Ok me and a friend were troubleshooting the heater problem my 1980 300TD wagon has. (No heat comes on no matter what you do inside the car, temp doesnt change, its always cold or warm based on outside temp)
We found out the heater pump was not turning on, so we next checked the black box next to the pump (we assume its a servo box controlled by vacuum) and its totally broken inside, the little arm that swings to change settings of some sort is broken in 3 pieces. Anyone got any inside info on this? Can we hardwire the system to stay hot permanently or what? I do NOT want to spend any more money on this car, I've already wasted so much time and effort making new problems I'd rather just do a quick fix even if its not the right way to do it. Thanks much guys. Anthony |
