Drive shaft boot?
I just pressed on my new drive shaft carrier bearing and now I'm trying to get on the new boot. I see where it goes on the front part of the shaft. I got it on to the metal collar, but I can't get it on the shaft to stay, nor do I even see how it protects the bearing. BTW, there was no c-clip on mine, but I don't see how that'd hold it on either.

Hello

Mine didn't have a c-clip either. I was told that some did have it and some didn't. Guess they phased it out later. I think there is a resource note here about how to place the cover on the bearing I'll see if I can find it. Update:...Here it is http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/W123DriveShaftSupportBearing

I just pulled my bearing off last night in the basement... doesn't sound right I know.
If your talking about the metal collar things on either side of the bearing.... maybe you could bend it a bit and it would stay on. I bent one of mine pretty good whacking it with a hammer. I bent it back in shape with pliers. They don't seem all that critical.... the one on the end could possibly be held in place by the front driveshaft once it's all installed. Just my thoughts.

Already saw the wikka article, no mention of the boot.
Anyway, it doesn't seems like it's a very specific procedure, so I'll just see what I can do.
