Door lock actuator to rod connection - ????

1982 300TD - replacing the right front door lock actuator.

How in the heck does the rod come out of the black connector atop the actuator???? At first glance, the rod looks to be threaded in, but - they're NOT threads - they're concentric circles - like a ring-shank nail. All the turning in the world will NEVER "un-screw" this thing...

???????

I would suggest that you test the new actuator for leaks before installing it. Especially if it's an aftermarket version.

Oh, good idea! I didn't - but all is well - new actuator - and a new door handle - things are looking up!
