93 300D A/C blower moter issues

Hello everyone,

I was having problems with my OVP, (ABS light coming on, compressor not kicking in) so I replaced it and then everything worked properly for a few hours. Then the SRS light started coming on and going off intermittently and then the a/c blower stopped functioning. The compressor seems to be okay because cold air still comes out on the highway if you are going fast, but the fan does not work in any position. I checked the white ceramic fuse and it appears to be fine. Are there any other fuses or regulators that could be the culprit before I assume I need a new blower motor? The blower did squeak occasionally before it mysteriously died. Any and all advise is greatly appreciated!!!

Which Chassis W124 or W140 ?

We'll assume it's the W124.

First,Original Fuses? Throw them away and get a New set of Ceramic fuses.
With copper. (You have P.M. Traffic)

The "Bullet" fuses have a nasty habit of "Looking" good ,YET have Microscopic
cracks.

Gently, clean the fuse holders
(I use super fine Bronze wool , no scratches,dis-connect the Battery FIRST.)

ALL Kinds of Diagnostics in the Search function under Arthur Dalton's moniker.

Thanks! I'll try that. It would be a Godsend if that's all it turns out to be...

OOPS! Separate Aluminum Strip Fuse on top of Shock/Strut Tower

30 Amp Strip fuse moved to "Outside the Fuse Box " location after a few
unauthorized Bar-B-Ques.
blower fuse started a fire in my engine compartment!

Advanced Search,Arthur Dalton/Blower fan:

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/search.php?searchid=5008031

There is a Three Wire plug (Red,Yellow,Black) Almost to the Firewall on the
Driver's Side (Port) that can be used for diagnosis of the Blower Fan and it's
Regulator.(The Regulator is a/an plastic or metal "Finned" controller for the
Fan Speeds...AND it's underneath the Blower Motor)
http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/W124BlowerMotor
The Regulator on the 124.128 chassis(s) are Electronic.

Before you go digging (UNDERNEATH the Mono-Wiper,Etc.) make sure by running
all of A.D.'s diagnostic regimens FROM the Advanced Search(S) that you know the actual problem.
