HVAC Gauge part/fixture allowing simultaneous vacuum pull/charge?

Hi Guys,

It's summer, so all you A/C gurus and enthusiasts, it's your time to shine. Searching the thread I see that's it's best to avoid disconnecting vac. pump from the inlet (yellow) hose then attaching refridgerant so as not to let moisture into the system. Does anyone know of a particular adapter/hose/tee that I can use to accomplish not having to disconnect the inlet hose? It's so humid down here in New Orleans I don't want to risk any atmospheric exposure to the system.

I'm using a basic manifold gauge set(cheap) pictured below for my 85 300CD. I wish it wasn't R134A, but unfortunately, it is. After all the searching I've been doing I've come to the conclusion that I'll never experience the arctic blast that others are gettting from non-134a systems. But, I have to take what I can get. Thanks.

ya just close the valves on the manifold, then hook up to the bottle. then you pressureize the yellow hose and leak out some at the connection to the manifold. it's called a hose purge and is allowed by EPA

the colored hoses leak under vacuum slightly. having a valve on the end is only for keeping refrigerant in, not vacuum... still if you had a valve, when you disconnected from the pump, there would be moisture between the bottle and the valve... best to just purge the hose.
of course best is a 4 way manifold that has a vacuum pump connection with it's own valve.
