How to remove Fuel Injector Pump on 1985 300D turbo Diesel
How do you remove Fuel Injector Pump on 1985 300D turbo Diesel?
We have the 4 bolts off but it still wont pop out. The manual doesn't really go into detail of the removal, (pretty horrible). Has anybody done this before? We need to replace ours. I am hoping for a web site of images/pictures or just describe how. Thanks ahead of time. |

Not sure if you removed the Bolts where the Red Arrows point. I would remove the 2 that Bolt the Bracket to the Block.
Maybe removing the single Hard to get at one on the top Red Arrow also works. On a 78 300SD in the Junk Yard someone managed to remove the IP without removing the Oil Filter Housing; apparently by removing the Vacuum Shutoff Valve that I found laying on the ground next to the car. The Only thing I can be sure of is that the IP was gone and the Oil Filter Housing had not been disturbed.

The Fuel Injection Pump needs to be moved back about 1 inch before it pulls out.
