Female seat belt fastener

I'm replacing the female seat belt fastener on the passenger side. I need to remove the plastic cover molding to get access to the screw. The instructions (91-500) say simply “Take cover molding from front seat and remove screw from belt lock” so I imagine I should be able to just finesse the plastic cover off, but I can only bend and move the plastic a bit before it encounters resistance to the point where any more force will simply break it. The seat is slid all the way to the rear per instructions. Should that plastic just pull off? (I mean in one piece, lol).

The directions dont mention 25 yr old plastic nor do they offer a very effective way of removing the plastic.

Even being very patient, mine broke.

X2 Fattyman,
I first thought the thread should have been in the open discussion. Sounded like the wife was being replaced!!!

Thanks. Now at least I can stop looking for hidden screws, clips or whatever.
