Hard to change AC control unit? 81 300SD

I have a 1981 300 SD for sale on CL. The rebuilt motor trany, read end and drive shaft are a plus but the AC control unit went out.
Truth is it has a leak in the expansion block and I have not charged it in a few years so I was only using the fan which quit (Fan motor was replaced new about 10 years ago)

Anyway, I have it on CL and someone saw my add and has a control unit for $175.00 he said rebuilt by Programma. I would need to give him my core.

My car has no tag now so I would need to pull the AC control and take it for a swap. It seems obvious the working fan would be an upgrade and if I charged it the car might even sell (although the motor is worth more than the whole car, LOL.

If there is not an easy way to pull this I will forget it but I figured I would ask.
