1984 300TDT squealing A/C
Just replace the belt that broke on the A/C compressor. Belt tightens well, and appears to stay tight until I turn on the compressor, then all hell breaks loose. The belt seems to be loose, but I have re-tightened several times with the same results. Could the compressor or clutch be going out?
Thanks in advance.

I vote for the compressor being locked up.

mobenz,
How does the front clutch of the compressor feel when you turn it?
