New Depo Euro W124 = WOW!
Installed my Depo Euro's today. Job is pretty easy overall. Don't have wipers any more, but I've got light!!!!

Install instructions that can be found on the web were pretty straight forward. Use 8mm socket to remove wipers blades, remove side markers, unscrew bottom trim piece, remove 3 screws and black stiffener on the top of headlight, remove headlight.

Had a small problem with the passengers side. The A/C fans kinda blocked the screw access, just had to fumble around with it a little more. The back of the 4 pin connector fit the back of the 6 pin connector. It's far from perfect but it holds the pins in the connector. My bust for not ordering the backs.

I'm looking into getting the vac headlight adjuster. Just for the cool factor.

Took it for a drive this evening. More light on the road and then with the Hi-Beams. Its incredible. Nobody flashed me on low beams. Using stock 55/65W bulbs. Went with NARVA Plus 50 bulbs. They're nice. Beam pattern is good. Got them adjusted pretty close I think.

Makes the front look better also. Better than 18 year old barn doors. LOL

I assume you got them at a well-known auction site and paid the reasonable price they are asking. I am seriously about to order me some, complete with clear corners and adapter harnesses. I have a loved one who could really use the old Can/Am doors that are on there now...

FWIW I have depo's in my w124 and they are great. The popular online website I bought mine from sold them with clear corners. I do not like clear and sent an email when I bought them and they sent me smoked corners with my order, which I like much better. Not much difference at all between these and my bosch euro's on my w123.

I have the depo lights on the wagon, and hellas on the sedan.
I can hardly notice the difference.

I paid about $60 for some Depo's I tossed on the 560, work fine.

stock 9004 bulbs are 45/65W lo/hi

I just bought some 80/100 bulbs and I am upgrading the wiring in the car with new hi temp bulb sockets and relays, running fat wires from headlight directly back to the battery. All fused of course.

I'm doing in such a way that uses headlight pig tails that will keep stock headlight sockets, wiring, switches, etc.. intact. I just mate to the stock bulb socket inside the headlight housing.

Many people say just running direct battery power to the headlights (through relays) like this is enough to boost even stock bulb brightness, bypassing all the thin wires and routing through switch and current sense module, etc, which all drop voltage. Bulbs' rated wattage is based on 11.7 volts to accommodate all the voltage drops through wiring, so 45w at 11.7v turns into 53w at 14v (if that's what your meter shows at the battery when charging by alternator). There's an equation about luminance to wattage, etc. and when all the math settles, it's a significant increase in light output when you boost wattage by 20%, the payback is more than 20% brighter.

But what the heck I'll see what 80W per side can do as low beams. If it's blinding, or whatever, I can put stock bulbs in and still be better off for it.

The only downside might be the bulb out warning indicator may come on the dash. But both sides being balanced (relays for both hi and low beams on each side) may just fool the current sense, if it's just doing a compare instead of an absolute current check on the headlights it should be OK. We'll see. Ha ha ! I made a funny. Anyway, if the dash indicator drives me crazy I'll pop out the current sense module, if that works, or the dash indicator bulb.

If I had Euro lights, I wouldn't be doing any of this. But this is a lot cheaper and I can do it today, so I will.

Picked up my Depo Euro's for $170 incl Shipping. Didn't have the 6 pin connectors.
You can get the headlight adjuster do a search on: try search on LICHTSCHALTER W124 or use this link:

Where'd ya get the Narva globes? I suspect that globes do not come w/the Depo units.

got my bulbs here: I picked up the Narva range power +50 60/55W shopped around they had good pricing.
