Pics of my 1976 300D

Had to get the kid to show me how to upload pics. Anyway, I call it "my 300d", but it's actually the kids car. I paid $1000 for the car and drove it home. There is zero rust on the car and other than a door ding on the LR door that he picked up at the Community College, no damage. The interior was kind of beat up due to spending it's entire life in the desert but I'm working on that. Got a little fixing still to do with the instrument gauges and get the a/c working. This is the first Benz ever in my garage and my first diesel while I'm at it. I've read plenty of threads and there is lots of good info out there. Thanks for the help I've recieved so far. I'm sure I will have plenty more questions as we go through the restoration. One good thing, I do body and paint so I got that coverd. So, this is the father and son project that he can take to college and still drive it many years down the road. That is if he can keep the keys away from Mom.

I really would not mind a 4 door W115, It would be nice to get a 240D i'd be happy with a gas or diesel.

^They are very nice when sorted out. My 76 300D is my daily driver and love it, AC works great much colder than my W123. Last time I checked I got 27 MPG, dunno how i did it, I usually only got 24-25.

It looks to be aluminium. The PO said it was working fine but had to crack the line loose when he replaced the water pump and should only need a vacuum and recharge.

I think all W115's and W114's use York compressors. If it's painted black, it may be a rebuilt unit.

Looks like a heck of a car for $1,000.00. And a diesel, no less!

Good going!
