Idle speed adjustment 240D

Can someone point me to the idle speed adjustment on the 1979 240D?
Post a pic possibly? I'm assuming this will not machanically raise the idle but add more fuel to bring up the rpm's. Like a mixture kinda.

That's going to depend on what set up you have. There are instructions in the FSM, but too large a file to post here, PM me with an e-mail address, I'll send it to you.

On the inboard side if the IP you will see a long adjusting bolt that has a lock nut that mechanically controls the idle.

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, are you talking about the adjustment under the hood on the IP, or the knob on the dash that allows you to adjust the idle while you're driving?

He's talking about the ball ended link under the hood. Loosen the locknuts and turn it like a turnbuckle to shorten or lengthen it.

I think Stevo has the right spot for him. Loosen the 14 mm locknut and hold onto it while you turn the screw CCW.

Didn't 240Ds come with an idle adjustment knob right behind the steering wheel?

Yes, but the idea is to set the normal idle at the correct speed and use the knob to turn it up for cold weather warm ups.
