IP ADJ and REAR TIRE WEAR

About a month ago I was having idle problems when my 300d would get up to running temp. PS FRED told me to adj the IP PUMP. I was wondering what this adj. actually does. I have recently pulled inj #1 and it was clean but when I put it back in the return lines were sweating. Is this because they are old and have cracked from me pulling them off. The manual pump also squirts fuel out when its pumped. Im new to the diesels as far as working on them all of my experience has been with gas motors. The only other thing thats wrong is this inner rear tire wear that I posted a couple weeks ago. The tires were never rotated so the problem is in the back and I have no idea how the MB IRS works. Anyway I hope everyone has a fantastic and safe holiday!!!!

THANKS, JP

Junior, that pump needs to be replaced. They are less than $20 and it is possibly sucking air into the system.

On your rear tire wear problem, it is very likely a case of subframe mounts. I've described replacement here, and I'm pretty sure that FastLane will have the parts for it:

I thought the hand pump was shot. I read the link you gave me and sub mounts and rear dif mount will most likely fix this problem. The symptoms are exactly the same on my car. I really apreciate the help. Does anyone know what the IP ADJ does on the rear of the pump does. Maybe I shouldn't have adjusted it because the system might just be breathing in air through the manual pump.
THANKS JP
