easy repair for my inop ccu, '86 190d

Got around to fixing my CCU. It was tottaly inop. The p/o had installed a toggle switch directly to the blower. Vents were stuck on defrost and full heat. Removed the ccu expecting to find burnt solder joints etc, Only had a blown fuse in the back of the ccu. Pulled the glass fuse, bent the fuse holder prongs out. Installed 2 wires with spade connectors onto the bent prongs on one end and put a regular fuse in the other. I made the wires are long enough to reach down to the small vent on the side of the consol on the passenger side (incase it blows again)

Probably already common knowledge but thought I would share.

Good tip.

IIRC only the early 201 had the fuse.

I have a 1984 190D, so my car has a fuse on the back of climite control? If so I need to look at that, thanks.
