Sybill breathes again.

A shade over two years after she puked her head gasket, Sybill runs again. I still need to install air filter and accessory belt but I did get her started this morning.

No oil spewing out and no clouds of blue smoke either. Yay.

Ha, after seeing that head gasket at the GTG in Centerville I am very glad to hear that Sybill is breathing again.
Now she can really reign down her fury upon you......

Fantastic. So how much "while I'm in there" did you end up doing?

Absolutely nothing. Well, I did fix a broken exhaust manifold stud but that's no big deal and, I'd already had the turbo rebuilt right after the smoking started because I initially thought that the seal had failed.

Later on Saturday afternoon, I installed the radiator, added coolant and fired her off for real. She sat and ran for 30-40 minutes...no problem.

SWMBO is practically wetting herself in anticipation of getting that silly SDL back.

300SDL

Randy,

Great news. It is funny to think you bought that car almost 6 years ago. Looking forward to reading further reports on how she is running.

The funny thing is that after six years, I'm still fooling around with that beater or it's still beating on this fool.

Yeah, six years. I didn't think about that until I was searching for those pics of her in the driveway.

Remember how/when she got her name? You and Kevin were at the old hut and we were adjusting the valves on his SD. SWMBO and her sis were going to take the SDL for a spin and somehow triggered the built-in alarm and it wouldn't shut off. IIRC, they drove off in her 300D with the SDL's alarm still wailing, expecting us to somehow put it right.

That never happened to me...ever.
