My injectors were upgrades with Monark nozzles last year and were POP tested at an authorized Bosch diesel service shop to within specs. The old motor was driven up to the swap and the injectors were running perfectly smooth. So with a double dose of Diesel Purge after the swap I think I can rule out faulty injectors.

My 240D has got the rock at idle too. It seems to be getting worse with time or with heat. The hotter out it is the more pronounced it is. Like after a long run on the highway with a/c on then come off a exit ramp and it feels like it's chugging or slightly missing. On cooler nights this doesn't happen as bad, it still rocks just not as noticable. I'm going through the list of usual suspects too. Going to set the idle upa bit on IP in a bit.

Problem solved. The shakes are gone! Turns out the IP on the donor motor had been tampered with by PO. It had mixed screws. It had mixed size washers and the "zero" notch had a second notch notched just beside it. Had the IP from my old motor swapped and my mechanic set it to stock. Now the car is perfect and it idles like it was brand new!

So it was mistimed or what? Could you explain further?
