bottom dash cover

I've had this piece off for quite some time and will be putting it back on soon. I notice there are 6 pulled up staples in the area with the green line. What goes there? Is there a piece of trim missing? The is the driver's side.

Your missing the attached by staples, black plastic panel that is roughly the same size as the cover. It usually would have insulation on top of it.

Yeah, this is another one of the small, under-engineered headaches on our cars. The staples don't last if you take the knee panels out to do work more than once or twice.

I found that using small brass screws did a nice job on mine. Sorry no pics right now, but I used 5 across this line where the staples were.

Mine go from the outside (visible to occupants) through the palamino piece and into the black plastic.

You have to get the two pieces lined up, secured with clamps or tape even, then drive your screws in while you press everything down into a hard surface (i used a block of wood). If you aren't able to get good pressure while driving the screws threw the plastic, it will just push the black plastic away from the palomino.

Did that confuse you enough?

of course you'll have to find the missing panels first... easier would be to have me ship you the ones from my 240 parts car...

Thanks John but I think I have that piece somewhere and if I don't have it I should be able get one locally for nothing.
