At some point you will have to get newer car soner or later. I own W124 and that car i so much behind in technology compared to my other cars. Is it fun to drive? Yes. Would it be the only car I would own??? Hell no. Gotta have speed in life and W124 does not give me that. oh I miss my M3

Not sure what I will do when I have to get newer. There is nothing I really crave believe it or not.
Financial issues are going to be the biggest thing. We keep the wife in the nicer auto. She currently has an Infiniti FX35 which is amazing in all areas, but I FEAR the massive repair bill!!!!!
I guess a 4 door G35 is about the only thing I can think of.
One thing the W124 has done is cause me to lose my appetite for the W123. I will keep the wagon but China is living on borrowed time. {of course, I say that every summer when it is too hot to drive her}

Totally digging those seats! What a crazy interior! The euros have it all, too bad Mercedes never put a stickshift on anything bigger than an E280.

Do all '98s have only two headrests in the rear? Oh, and some noob put his K&N sticker on the wrong box under the hood.....

wow it has birds eye maple wood too! You can do a lot to make the rear end of the W210's look decent E55 Tails/AMG Rear Bumper etc.....

I think the W210 wagon rear ends look horrible though there is nothing that can be done do make that look good

Back into a brick wall maybe.....

It is the worst looking wagon since those gawd-awful Camry wagons....

The W140 takes care of that nicely. Instead of three fan buttons, it has a thumbwheel with a min detent, auto detent and max detent. You can set any fan speed between min and auto and max and auto. I can't figure out how to retrofit that switch into a W124 so the next best thing in Jeremy's idea.

I'd really like to find a fabric, particularly velour, interior for my car. I just don't get the appeal of leather. Is Hattie's SDL available?

I kind of like the old fashioned A/C controls and the rear air vents on the console. My 240 never had climate control problems. And that funky upholstery; well, I've seen worse. It was a fad a few years back in American and imports. Even the Caddy that zigged as I recall. Not that I'd recommend that car. But still no cup holders.

The interior is trendy and funky. But alas I am a yuppy and won't pay top E300 dollar to not be sitting on leather. Call me a snob.

I actually prefer mb-tex it wears better than leather. There is a noticeable difference in wear between my 95 E300 (MB-TEX) and my 99 E300 (leather).

I spoke too soon. My 300D is MB-Tex, 179k miles and has worn fabulously. However sitting on leather in the E420 is an experience all its own. But on a daily driving diesel, I agree tex is the way to go.

Seats remind me of a tour bus. I don't mind that rear too much, I hate the same year S classes butts though. yuk.

That style of interior is very common in Europe.

Every 210 taxi I ever rode in Europe had that interior. It's just the cloth from the "classic" trim level, classic being the lowest of three offered.

The tag says the car was imported in August '98, it must have been brand new. Why bother?

So I see the manual climate control, no power seat switches on the doors, those unattractive E420 wheels - not so much difference from the USA version.

I just don't see the point of buying this car unless it's less expensive than the USA version. Otherwise, why but up with inevitable parts & service hassles?
