what year parts exchange w/ a 85 300D turbo?

My car is a 1985 300D turbo

I have found a 83 240D 4 speed in a JY and want to know if most parts are interchangable??
looks like the tires are the same size and found a bendix caliper that I need, want to make sure those years
interchange...

will the a/c compressor fit as well? what about the bumper? And the white vacuum control valve?
The one near the IP... what else should I be looking for? The tail lights looks the same, what about
the air cleaner bracket??

This one has the manual a/c controls and the becker europa w/ cassette also has a few good hubcaps (2)
and the back seat looks in good condition, the front seats were still springy but leaned to the left a little...
still has the first aid kit

It is the cream color w/ the palomino interior......both outside rearview mirrors were gone..
man the mosquitos were awful.......does not look like the car was wrecked...I think it had like
160,000 miles on it but that could be wrong. has carpets in ok shape
Anyone have interest in any of these parts? I am after stuff like switches and a/c compressor and a caliper,
maybe spare tire

How can you tell if the door straps are still good? I found one removed from the car, sitting in the seat...what should I look for ???

hard to tell on the door checks out of the door, you don't have enough strength to test it in your hand. put it back in the door and open and close it. smooth? keep, popping/noisy? leave it.

Sounds like you need to do some research using the Mercedes-Benz EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog) (free to USA citizens with a credit card):

Easier to read.

1981 - 1985 on brake, suspension, body and trim.

Danger:
Do NOT mix ATE and Bendix on the same axle...

You say it has a Becker Europa Cassett radio. Is it any good? how much?
I may be interested.

The Door check, remount it. 3 screws and the door pin. open and close the door to check the condition.

Those are Bendix rear calipers.

You can use Bendix or ATE on the front or rear, they are interchangeable.
Just don't mix them on the same axle.

Found some euro bumpers today...why does everyone like these things?
The door check that was out of the car, easily moved, so my guess...no good.. also the front door check was intact but did not work right, I guess this is one of the things you need to buy new...
