Hey elchivito,
I agree with your thoughts.
A mate said to me the other day though, "a 240 is just one pot short of a 617, a bit like their drivers being a slice short of a loaf". He was referring to how slow they were & we only have N/A 617's over here to compare them with!! Please dont think I am have a go at you in any way though!! Let the truth be known, a 617 is just a 240 with an extra pot, well the early ones were!!
I have many friends that get a new locally manufactured car every 3 years, I just laugh at them all the way to the bank.

Good Luck with your 240 !!!!!

Actually this is the one I'm thinking of, and it's probably a 115 if I'm remembering correctly. Although I guess it could be a 123. Didn't they change to 123's in 76?

The current Mercedes-Benz High Mileage champ is Gregorios Sachinidis, a Greek taxi driver who holds the known record of more than 2.8 million miles in his 1976 Mercedes-Benz 240D.
