gotta post here... w123 Euro wagon FS, RHD. Diesel?

Check this out. A recently imported w123 wagon from England, presently in Ohio. RHD, 5-speed. No indication of gas or diesel, and I can't clearly see whether the badge says "TD" or "TE". Looks gorgeous.

Those RHD park brake handles are a riot.

I'm betting money on it being a gasser. You can make out a faint "economy" gauge in the instrument cluster.

I assume he would have said if it was a diesel.

No mention of US title or registration. How much you want to be that's why it's being sold?

English cars of this vintage typically have rust problems.

bamba 07-25-2010 02:57 PM

How difficult would it be to get a US Title? Wouldn't that be required as part of the import/customs process?

Oh yes they do indeed! But go and see it to make sure...

I'll call him tomorrow, I am seriously interested. Miss my wagon, love my 280CE.

Not really. The physical process of importation and getting through customs does not require a US title. The title and registration process is regulated by state laws, getting through customs is a federal thing.

Now that it's 25 years old, getting a title is a snap.

that is one wild wagon, that rocks!

I see a hint of red in the tach that a diesel would not have, and there are 4 gauges in the temp cluster, so the economy/vacuum gauge is there, it's a gasser. it's pretty, too bad it's got the square euro lights not the round ones... still, a cool wagon.

sixto 07-25-2010 07:47 PM

I don't think round Euros were OE by 84.

Since it's an injected gasser, I wonder if it's a 230TE or 280TE.

Maybe square RHD euro lights. The beam pattern is shaped to throw light on the curb side of the road, and in the UK that's the left.

You are correct about the light pattern Yak. On low beam they throw to the left.
If its got 2 tail pipes its a 280, if 1 its a 230. I would want to know why it was imported to the USA. Equivalent cars are more expensive in GB that the USA.
