Exclamation Impossible to find part? Heater connector on cylinder head

As I was preparing my head for reassembly and installation, I noticed that the Machine shop dude had damaged the heater connector adapter on my head. It is bent and the tube won't fit.

Is there any possible way to find one of these, other than removing one from a junk head? This looks like a common part among OM60X engines, so I might be able to get one from a different model engine also...

Does this part have a part number, or is it a component of the head and I am screwed?

Any help would be appreciated. This head resurface job has taken waaay too long and I am getting weary of the waiting...

Thanks!

Would be nice to know the X in 60X but for a US 86-87 SDL or US 92-95 SD the part number is 601 203 01 36. Recent but not necessarily most current list price is $31.00.

I don't remember seeing such a fitting in an M103 or M117 which are the common engines in wrecking yards.

When I was swapping my #14 head in '07 I unnecessarily removed that fitting. Handy the head was scrap, as all the threads came out with it.

Aluminum head, aluminum fitting, 20 years--bonded. Can the "machine shop" genius make a tapered mandrel thing to drive in and true up the existing fitting? Based on a sample size of one, I'd suggest exhausting all other means of repair before trying to remove that dude.

YMMV.

Yep. I think I'll try to repair it first. As long as the aluminum does not crack, a gentle tap with some round objects might make it fit.

The bigger worry now is the dent I found on the newly machined surface right where the gasket goes... Only welding and grinding will fix it now...

Damn...

Curious, I went out and took one off a blown 603 #14 head I've got laying around. Came off easy with a large wrench and a whack of my hand to get it turning, then hand screwed out. There's an aluminum crush washer for this part. Threads are good.

Anyway, this part looks serviceable, needs a little cleaning, but you can have this one if you want it for the shipping alone. PM me.

Be sure to use a new rubber O ring on the part that goes into this tube.
