Exclamation What is this part and where can I get one ASAP! Help!

Got to get my car back on the road ASAP! I was driving down the road yesterday, hit the brakes, heard a loud clunk. Car pulls to the right really hard, especially when using the brakes now. Got home, had a look, obviously something not right here. The bar that attaches to the upper control arm and prevents the UCA from moving fore and aft has broken where it attaches to the UCA. I cant find a name for this part, nor can I find where I can get one. Anyone have a name or part number or place that sells them? Thanks in advance. Attached is a picture of the carnage

Also, is there just a nut under the battery/washer reservoir that holds this in? WHats the proper procedure for removing the broken arm?
Thanks again!

If it goes through to the other side of the car the same way it's an anti-sway bar, or sway bar, or stabilizer bar.

I'm not that familiar with w123 suspension, but becoming very familiar with w124 suspension.

Looks like you may need a few parts. But, the anti-sway bar may not be broken. It has threads inside the end that is in the picture and two rubber doughnuts, two metal washers, and a bolt hold the assembly together. It could be there are enough threads left you can get a bolt started and have a sos so fix. Phil on here sells the rubber bushings. a hard bolt and large washers and you could be up and running. On the other hand you most like should check that UCA by pulling it and having a look see. Good luck thanks

This is the part you want*

http://www.peachparts.com/diy/mb_tools/mb_tools.php?page=35

Use a grinder with cutoff wheel to cut your existing bar. The new part is a socket weld fitting that caps the end of the existing sway bar. Much faster - much cheaper, especially for an SD. It was about $125 when I bought one (mid 2009).

* = for future posterity's sake: Note that the WAGONS have a larger diameter sway bar and this part WILL NOT FIT WITHOUT MODIFICATION.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like this is a great forum for our cars. Ive been through lots of cars and always join the best associated forum, looks like I have found the on for my 300SD! Ive been lurking here for a couple weeks. Just picked up my 83 300SD a couple days ago and already have a huge problem. Argh! Makes me wonder if the PO knew about it or 1/2 ass fixed it! Oh well, ITs a nice car and I plan to keep her going as long as I can afford to do so!

THanks again!!
