I had 2 problems today...and was trying to get everywhere before everything closed up for the weekend. I forget I can compare parts on the "buy parts" tab...thanks for doing the research for me
Junkyard is closed sunday and the auto repair place is of course closed sunday.
Motor mount failed and the linkage thing failed.
Got lucky and a local place had the mounts
and my local mechanic guy was able to install the motor mount...$100 Labor
Mounts $18 each, they only had time to do one side so the drivers side was done ....the engine has less vibration now. One of the hoses had a scrape on it, they said it was ok

I had him remove the clips on the fan shroud and the linkage on the firewall Thanks to the forum for the heads up on that, otherwise I dont think he would have even thought about it...they are OLD car guys they still try to do work for me which I appreciate and they have ok prices
This was a little high but it was last minute...
The dealer was no help on parts

Boy I wish I had a lift....the tools they have get everything done so fast
They have a collection of old cars, and this time they had about 4 mercedes a 123 240D automatic that will be for sale soon,

looked like a 126 some one beat the heck out of and a sporty model 2 door, and this one I think he said it was a 1968 really nice.. he let me take pictures ...it will be for sale soon.

Right now it runs but needs a tranny He did not know how much he was going to sell it for....The 123 240 will be for sale for about $2200 I think he said. He asked what I paid for my car..and I told him $400 I dont think he liked that answer

One of the hoses had a scrape? Is this because they changed the motor mounts or was it already there? Is it on the "hard" portion of the line or the flexible portion?

The reason I ask is that a failure of one of the oil cooler lines can cause a catastrophic failure. If it fails.... By the time you see that the oil pressure has dropped, it is too late.

It sounds like you are "getting things done"! Congrats!!

I had 2 mechanics look at it for just that reason, it was an oil cooler line...it is just a scrape on the black rubber part of the hose , from I think the power steering belt they said the hose is thick...I hope they are right
I dont have an oil pressure gauge...I think the gauge on my dash is for water, please correct me if I am wrong
I will replace the hose soon.. too many other broken things today
and still no a/c

That black fin tail (Heckfloose, sp) is a nice looking car.
I wish my 123 had that front end. enough time and money, anything is possible.

Stupid..... easy fix even for me!!!
One cotter pin and two bolts, disconnect the linkage....
I was hanging on to the cotter pin like no body's buisness!
If I dropped that, no telling where it would have gone it is so small

Here is the old one...

Oh yea, I rigged the thing with a hose clamp around the linkage and a zip tie thru the bracket on the fire wall, worked until I could get it back together, now if the used part will just hold up until a NEW one comes in. It looked like it was on its way out too..
