Does the 2.5 need valve adjustments? If so, I'd pull that cover off and check/adjust the valves. Time to do that 110-point inspection with a checklist and see what you'll have to start saving for.
How much did you get the car for??? What kind of mileage?
And despite what an earlier post stated, this woman did not get motion sickness her 190D over a 6-yr period, although if I had the auto tranny, I would have been suicidal before the second week!!!
Good luck with your new car.

I got the car for $550. 380 000km on the clock, at least when the odometer stopped working. I got it on the road, including the car, for $700, taxes and plates included! As far as the 110 point checklist, good luck. I would find 120 things wrong with it. This old 190 is the definition of a beater car! I was driving a 2002 Pontiac sunfire. It was boring. I am a heavy Diesel truck mechanic by trade, this is my new toy.
I have no biological growth, I have never even seen that up here. I think I loosened up a ton of junk in the tank and lines. It is running good now, both fuel filters are changed. Exhaust is welded back on.
From what I have been told, no valve adjustment is required.
On a side note, I found the right rear upper control arm bushing are bad, actually one is missing! Will need to address this very promptly or my tale of woe will get much worse.
