Vacuum/BrakeBooster problrm
My question is, do I need to have the checkvalve in my main vacuum line installed for the booster to work properly. My valve broke over the weekend and I MacGuyvered in a PCV valve. That worked for one day but just crapped out, now I need to know if I can do without it until I get a new main vacuum pump hose. I'm not running any vacuum to anything else except booster and shutoff valve. I long ago disconnected all other vacuum draws on the car. I only need vacuum for the booster and pump shut off.

Well, looks like checkvalve is needed after all. Bypassed valve and brake booster worked great but car wouldn't even try to shut down. Put valve back in and got brake boost and shut off. So check valve must provide some metering of vacuum between the shut off valve and booster. I'll leave it in until I get new factory line. Good to know a PCV valve will work in a pinch.
