first diesel purge in 50k miles

And you would think that hiroshima would have come out of the tail pipe. But nothing...if anything...it was Less smokey. It feels so anti climactic. somebody tell me i did some good. I took some video...maybe the idle sounds different.

I haven't done anything to mine in 35k, and it runs all the same. Unless you drive like a granny all the time, a purge is unnecessary. I take mine to 100mph at least a few times a week. So it stays real clean in there!

I've had mixed results with diesel purge. I've seen old diesel that have sat for a while, run a lot smoother after a purge, but I've also experienced no change. You're definitely not hurting anything, and you are definitely cleaning off any deposits that may have started to gather.

i work an hour away from home so the car lives at over 3k RPM and i fill up once a week with the ultra low sulfer fuel. Maybe the goose is just as happy as it can possibly be. thanks for the pick me up.

I've never gotten much of a response from Diesel Purge.

However, with B100 the first few days you would have thought an earthquake was happening.

How it is all smooth...

I drive 2000+ miles a month on ULSD and have yet to have ANY issues, and I run no additives at all. Its all a myth.

I'm not interested in starting something. I ran tanks back to back with and without additive on USLD and noticed a difference on an '87 300D and a F250 7.3. So in my world it isn't a myth. My point was running USLD isn't doing your car any sort of favor and that is how I read his post.

the ultra low sulfer fuel is just whats available.i am not doing it on purpose. i figured the sulfer was just sediment that the hardiness of the 617 consumed without complaint. my though was that maybe the sulfer could be part of what clogs injector and since i run ulsd my injectors were shiny. i'll post the videos of before and after engine noise.

Also, this morning, on the way into work, I was at a stoplight and I did notice that my unhappy cylinder was slightly less unhappy. I used to get this pulsing funk groove from under the hood. This morning it felt way less unhappy. If the purge did that, then I am sold.

You put a can of solvent through your IP that was never supposed to be there, what could possibly go wrong?

You haven't tried to keep a Dodge Ram with the infamous VP on the road. ULSD problem isn't a myth. The SD runs quieter also.
