I am confused. You state "when I put the IP in it was 15atdc... but just never was as good as it was"

what work did you do leading up to this point?

If I listed ALL the things I've done to this car I would take like two Pages but I stick the the engine stuff
The car was "fine" then one day it would start but RPM would not rise (you may have read the post it dragged on and on)
After alot of B.S. and testing I sent my I.P. off to be gone over
I get it back and put it in (timing pin in 15 ATDC on the crank and "centered" I.P. to allow equal adjustment left to right useing timing helper)

BAM everything is cool!!! not really the gasket for the two halves of I.P. case is leaking oil preatty bad so I call CO. and they send me a new gasket
after what I paid they to "fix" my I.P. I have to fix a good oil leak

So I pull out the I.P. (by now I am getting good at it) I have a install video if my bro will get off his ass and post it on you tube I'll post when it's done

the first time I put I.P. in bump that key half a second it came to life
after I fixed the oil leak it wasn't as good I did it the same way (like I said Im getting good at it I can get it out in 1.5 hours and get it back in about the same time)

Then the car did what it did before I spent all that money on the I.P. "fix" starts runs no rise in RPM

You know what I did...........got the alda tore it's guts out and that fixed that... I turn all kinda R's now

I have replaced delivery valve seals (yes they are torqued to spec)
drained tank replaced fuel screen
rubber lines from the tank
all fuel lines in engine bay filters
return lines rebuilt injectors
#4 injector hard line (cracked at base of nipple on I.P. side)
new lift pump
yellow top bat. alt. bat cables starter new belt
tensioner pully shock
kilma OVP every fuse in the fuse box
glow plugs (I'll test them again) glow plug time relay and fuse

This is about 20% of the parts I have put on the car since I had it!! I could keep going...(yeah I've spent some money) but these are the things that may pertain the issue at hand
I might be willing to trade for a wagon in as good of shape I may need to do some travel with my dog around the country

I hear ya. I mean the stuff related to timing and fuel supply.

great. So after this point, what did you do? Did you do the DV seals after this?

It sounds like all you did was pull the IP to fix the oil leak. Please clarify, no other work was done.

Since you last installed the IP, you removed the alda and it responded the way you want it to. Afterwards, it went south again?

tearing the alda out was a fix to the starts fine idles fine but no amount of rack movement raises RPM
that was back in April so that is kinda a dead issue

this might be my diesel termastat has a hair line crack on the plastic side??

I thought maybe an injector was "leaking down a little bit" after shut off
If you read my post about it stalling at low speeds
without doing anything but driving it it has not stalled for about a week
the RPM dip down to 4-500 after lite throttle pressure sometimes but it has not stalled

Maybe I don't drive it enough I might be going to CA. in a month (2000 miles one way) trans may not be up to it

you can easily bypass the thermostat, good start.

again, when did you do the delivery valve seals?

do you see air bubbles in your clear fuel lines leading to the IP?

no air bubbles I did the delivery seals right before I sent the I.P. to get "fixed" (all I had to do was pull off the alda) cost me like $400 for that lesson oh well
I'll purge and change filters for the hell of it today or tomarrow I really doubt it needs it but my OCD is really bad being unemployed I have a over active mind
