Is E300TD it's offical model designation? Traditionally "TD" stands for "Tourist" or Touring, what we call wagons. Sometimes I see the W123 series 300TDs listed as 300TDT, to identify it as a Touring Diesel Turbo. I don't believe Mercedes even made a diesel wagon in the new "E" Class. I forget the series number. I believe the W124 was the last series to have a diesel wagon.

I have know idea. I know what your talking about with diesels of old. Maybe they changed it for the las 2 yrs it was made. They are hard to find. Many people do not know they were even produced. Outside of this board that is!
