Pardon all the newbie threads, but well, I'm a newbie!

I'm just wondering who you guys can recommend as the best Mercedes diesel mechanic in Socal (Pasadena/Los Angeles area)? Looking good good work, good prices, nice honest people, etc.

Circle Star Mercedes in Van Nuys knows Diesels. He could be cheaper though but he stands behind his work. I do all my own work unless I need a hoist and then I borrow his! Good Luck. Welcome to the club.

I used European for the first six months or so that I owned the car. They did a lot of work for me, and allowed me to purchase my own parts (they did the install), which saved me $$$.

I had taken the car to Classic German Motors before I bought it for a check-out, however my impression was that they were more expensive. But when my battery needed replacement, I noticed that they are an Interstate Battery dealer, so I took it there and have been taking it there ever since. They have a very large client base and are very busy. They're cheaper for an oil change than European, however I'm sure some of their other pricing is more, but not dramatically. European is a much smaller shop.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, however at this point, I don't plan on going back to European. I'm very happy with Classic German Motors.

The owner and operator is Tony Caldas who is one awesome guy. He's a straight shooter who like myself is a repeat customer for years who won't even attempt to sell you crap you don't need. He's very fair and has always taken care of 5 of my Benzes (4 diesels and 1 gasser) I have brought to him over the years.

He is a bit far from Pasadena (I lived in Eagle Rock) but it was worth sitting in the idiotic 10 freeway traffic to have the peace of mind that the car was always roadworthy for the mean streets of LA
