Engine wiring question
OK, I should know the answer to this. here goes:
Is the brown wire coming out the back of the wiring harness (after the last glow plug) for the overboost switch? I'm building a harness and this wiring was just hanging behind the engine. I changed out the manifold along time ago, thus never plugged in the overboost wire. Thanks

Solid brown is usually (earth) ground.

I found a car that actually had is overboost connected, and it was a brown wire, with a black stripe. the wire in my harness was a brown wither with a red stripe, but both went to the same pin. so that got deleted out of my new harness.

Yeah, solid brown is always ground on a German car AFAIK.
Its not really "earth" ground. It is neutral chassis/battery ground. Rubber tires = no contact with earth.

Although it is not technically "earth" ground, depending on which manuals and technical publications, ... it can be referred to as "earth" instead of ground, I believe that the Haynes manuals are a British source where this is the case, just trying to make it simple for the OP.
