Adsit Window Regulators

I just got a paper Adsit catalog, and in there they offer coupe window regulators pretty cheaply. Since it is nearly impossible to find coupe window (rear) regulators anywhere, Im tempted to give these a try.

Anyone have any stories to tell about buying parts from Adsit?

FYI they are claiming $119 each (new) for rear coupe regulators, while they are $995 new from the dealer... There are no aftermarket versions that I am aware of.

Any ideas?

I saw the one where someone bought bilsteins and was happy about the deal. Another long one where they sent the wrong ones and had an issue...
Some good and some bad...

Thing is, Im talking a funky non-available part, not a shock, motor or trans.

I say buy the part and pay with a reputable credit card. That way if you run into any trouble or arrogance on their part a dispute is only a fax away.

The alternatives are dealer or junk yard roulette. Good luck.

Yeah, bc it is a matter of $1000 vs $250 per pair, or else non-existence.

what happens to the regulators? can they just be fixed? I've seen on here where brackets were welded to strengthen 123 regulators. or do they just chew themselves up?

Apparently a weak design and they bend. Never got a real straight answer on the repair, and I don't have the capability to weld anyway...

I've (my family) purchased stuff from Adsit in the past and had been happy. My brother bought some Euro headlights for his 87 300D (which is now mine) and we were very happy with them (Bosch brand which included new Euro corner lights and all wiring too). Still have them on my car today and actually in April someone backed into my car and busted my passegner side lens and Adsit was the only place I knew that carried them so I bought one to replace it. Another happy purchase (Bosch replacement lens) in great shape etc...

Now for the Bad experience(s). In July we noticed they were having a sale on Euro lights (W123, W124 and a few others). They were about $200-$300 off the original price so we bought a pair of each (one for the newly acquired 92 300D and one for the 85 300CD). When we got them we discovered they were cheap knock-offs (depo and lucid) and that they sent the wrong type headlight for the W124 passenger side light (they sent us a 94-95 style light). They happily replaced the light for us (of course we had to pay return shipping) but didn't have much to say about the different brand of lights. I admit that we should've know something when we were getting that much money off (but hey, we thought it was a Sale!!!) but they never mentioned anything on their website (they really should of). We've kept the lights and intend on using them although not very happy about the purchase (could've gotten the same brand of lights on Ebay for $150-$200). You learn from your mistakes and live with them.

So, on to your question. You better believe 110% that those regulators are NOT OEM. They are some sort of Aftermarket item. Have you tried looking on Ebay? I was able to find a replacement regulator/motor for the '85 coupe (front passenger) a few months back for $50.00 and it works great. Now we need to get the driver side fixed (something about the frame needing to be welded). Just a thought!

Coupe rear regulators are nearly impossible to find (hens' teeth?)... Ive not been lucky even calling junk yards who claim on car-part to have them...
