Question NSS
I periodically cannot start the car when in Park. Starting in Neutral has always worked so far. Does anyone know where the NSS is located on an 87 w124 300D? And is the fix to replace the switch or can it be repaired?

Inspect the shifter bushings and for bent shifter rods first.

It is located on the driver's side of the tranny attached to the tranny housing and the tranny's shifter arm. There is a flat four conductor connector which attaches to it, the connector is released by pushing/pulling a white catch which rotates a bit and releases the connector in doing so.

Thank you all very much for the info
This forum continues to be amazingly helpful-as it has for the last 10 years. The only thing that I miss is Marshall Booth's VERY detailed responses to jokers like me.
