possible front bearing gone bad

i have been posting alot latley just trying to sort out all the problems with the 1995 300d i just purchased.
there is some loud humming noise comming from the front once you get pased 30mph. when you turn while driving the noise goes away and returns when the wheels are straight again.
how hard is it to diy a front bearing, i could only find write ups on the rear bearing which seemed to be a real pain. just in case youre wandering why i type in all lower case, my keyboard had locked up

I did my 300sd last year. No harder than on an american car. No special tools required. Not sure if exactly same as yours.

look in the DIY section. MB specs the nut tightness with an end play measurement rather than the old tighten it and loose it half turn

And, checking that end play with a Dial Indicator.

They get loose with wear and need tightened around 100K. You might get by with packing and tightening them. If after you clean it well it feels nice and smooth you can reuse it.
