Failed Turbo - 350 Moles from Home

I am in the midst of a 500 mile trip from Hilton Head, SC to North Alabama. My Turbo has failed, and I have little power. Worse is I think the turbo oil seals are shot and I using a huge amount of oil. I am still 350 miles from home. Not too far from Macon, Ga.

Would it be possible to blank off under the turbo to stop the oil flow to it? Would that cause other problems? If I could stop the oil flow, I think I could make it home.

I'm not familiar with the OM642. If the turbo has failed on any engine my concern would be running it with debris in the oil and oiling system which could cause other major engine damage.

Towing $$$ will be $$$. Is trailering it an option for you?

Sorry to hear of the headache...

I have trailer at home, but need to get home? Possibly could rent a car get home, then come back and get it with the trailer?

Thanks. Probably need to do this.
