w123 rear wiper crankshaft teeth

My motor assembly works fine, but the teeth that align with the teeth in the wiper arm are slipping on the return sweep.

Anyone know of a fix that doesn't involve replacing the entire assembly?

See if the gear can be replaced. Lots of metal & plastic gears available if you know what the specs are.

Well it's the crankshaft that has little teeth etched into it...Doubt MB would sell the shaft alone the assembly is probably the minimum unit....
:/

yes i have addressed this issue with my own. THe problem is that the case is held together with pins rather than screws. When the gear is under load the case opens up a bit and the main gear and the worm gear from the motor begin to skip and grind on each other. What I did was remove the pins and thread the holes where the pins were, and then buy machine screws that fit. Screw the case down and the gears' teeth stay in contact with each other. It solved my problem.

this is a good thread for wiper issues:
