Does anyone have a procedure for 5 speed shifter alignment

After I installed my 5 speed in the 190d the shifting doesn't seem quite right. I saw the threaded ends of the shifter but am not sure how to get things working better. I haven't located a procedure on my Cd manual. Any ideas. My other 5 speed car an 84 190e shifts like butter. Cheers Dan

Adjust so that in neutral all the legs on the shifter are aligned vertical (there is a hole to insert an alignment pin) and there is no tension against any of the transmission levers.
