Zebrano woodgrain vinyl decals
I want to extend my Zebrano onto the face of my dashboard with vinyl decals. I know there are "kits" on ebay but they don't show the actual product or how it will look in your car. They are also expensive. Anyone know of a source for uncut sheets?

I don't know of what you speak, but this site has amazing paints, coatings, vinyls etc...

Woodcraft stores have Zebrano veneer packs. Real wood, not expensive. I used it to build a gauge panel for my 124.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of vehicle do you have?

'86 190D. I am in the process of fixing up the interior. I just swapped my cracked dash with a good one, I am re-keying the doors, re-springing the seats, replaced all my scratched and cracked Zebrano. Now that It is coming along, I think it needs more wood! I love the wood. Not a tacky amount, just on the face of the dash and over the glovebox. There is what you could describe as a black plastic band about 3" wide that stretches accross the face of the dash. I think this would look good in wood.
I may look at the venir, but it could be a bit of work to fit around the switches and I have to finish it. Stick on vinyl brings instant gratification. |

there were also aftermarket brands like eris-car.de that made aluminum backings with zebrano actual wood--far superior to the stick-on vinyl, but pricey. you get a matching set of wood if you buy a set. the limited edition wood has to be found on ebay us or germany/uk, or you can buy it from the dealer provided you have a vin of a car that originally had it (same deal with carbon fiber look parts for sportline limiteds)
