The warning relay lives behind the instrument cluster. As others have indicated, it buzzes for a number of reasons. It is possible to wire around the seat belt switch and eliminate that annoyance without damaging anything else. Someone on this forum reported that it is possible to open up the relay, remove the buzzer and substitute [external to the relay] the chime warning that some GM cars have.

... or simply connect the two wires leading into the seat-belt receptacle so that it thinks your seatbelt is buckled.
But as always, wear your seatbelt (disclaimer).

My W124 is quiet if I have my seat belt on. No sounds at all during glow. With the seat belt off it does buzz though.

Yeah ,Well...
"Zomeone" must have "Fixed" mine, previously.
I get No "Puddle Lights" either when I open the driver's door. (Heck no lights at all) I' ve always assumed the Seat Belt Buzzer Relay behind the I.C. was bad , AND one day it would go on the "List" of repair-ables.
