my mercedes testimonial

So after a weekend trip last weekend I now have alot to say about my car. I have been driving the 300sd for awhile now waiting for the injectors to come back for the 300d. I havnt really been to trusting of it, and dont drive it out of town. The car has alot of small problems, and I fear what could come far from home. Well we went on a trip last weekend that was 1 1/2 hours away, and I knew I was coming back for a truck pull on saturday. So I decided to take the risk and drive my car that hasnt been drivin much in the last 3 years. So all in all I drove a total of 340miles without a problem. I have a new found trust in the car, and am loving the fact that I still had 1/4 of a tank left after driving 340 miles. The trip yielded 25mpg with 50/50 65mph highway and 55mph. Now im just sorting out some climate control vaccum leaks tonight and am buying a parts car to fix the interior. Just felt like letting you know how impressed I am with my vintage mercedes. And by the way I still love the look I get when people hear the clatter comming and look up to see a truck and are shocked to see an old mercedes...:D Sorry for being long winded, but I just wanted to share my love for the vintage diesel mercedes.

I hear you. I stay inside the AAA+ 150 mile radius.

We've had our '82 300SD and '84 300CD since new and still love them. When I pull up to the MB dealership in the 300CD, the mechanics come out to admire it. Mercedes haven't built better cars since.

Glad you like your rides.

Good to hear you're keeping on top of things.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive cross country in either of mine.

Glad you're enjoying it.

Just drove mine this week on a third 1400+ mile trip since May.

75 mph/26.1 mpg.
