300sd radiator / 82 vs 85 / Compatable?

After 7 years safely stored in my garage.. I got out the 300sd gem and promptly and successfully... went deer hunting.

So comes the question.. will a radiator assembly from a 1982 ift my (currently sad) 1985?

Thanks.. and I think I'll be calling Phil for other things very soon.

It should fit as far as I know...

Yes. The only differences are engine emissions and transmission model.

Seafood,

Th radiator on the SD is a remarkably easy job. However, you might want to look at replacing your transmission cooler lines while you are down there. Even so, the aluminum fittings may have welded to the housing ala the notorious oil cooler lines. In that case, you will be forced into replacing them. Again, as MB jobs go, replacing the transmission cooler lines is an easy job.

So, prepare yourself for some mid-job schlepping.

Good Luck,

When tightening the hoses back down be VERY careful not to over tighten and crush the plastic neck - they get very brittle after years of heating and cooling.
