Help with Vacuum 79 300TD

I have a 79 300TD and want to know what is good vacuum coming off the brake booster line

good would be 22" acceptable would be 15 or so.
it should be steady.
you may have to plug the nipples to get this if your actuators are leaking or you have worn vac fittings.

I'm only at 10 is it hard to rebuild the pump

before you think of rebuilding the pump you need to be SURE there are no leaks in the line.
you are measuring 10 at the connection to the booster, and everything else on the line is plugged?

there is only one line coming off the brake line and that's where I took the reading

ahhh.
no, what you need to do is plug that connection, then unbolt the line itself from the booster, then get your reading from the big end of the line. you may have a bad booster that's bleeding vacuum too fast for your pump to maintain vacuum.

Thanks. good news I have 18-20 lbs of vacuum. problem the two lines off the ignition where on backward, car just did not want to shut off

on the ignition there are two vacuum lines they where mixed up one was open when the car was running not letting vacuum build.
