Seal expander chemicals can take 1000-1500 miles to do the job on occassion. Sitting mercedes having dried out shrunken leaky internal seals where a common issue back around your vintage and earlier.

I suspect that mercedes changed the material in the seals as the problem was not so evident or common after awhile...

That part goes in-between the brake band and either the actuator piston or the adjustment opposite the actuator piston. Someone here knows which. The good news might be that removing the B2 piston (possibly broken) will allow you to replace this part with the transmission in the car.

If you need the piston, I believe that I have a good used correct one.

Thank you very much for this info and i am ready to tackle the issue and remove the B2 piston if i only knew where it was is there a pictorial or writing about that i will be contacting you for that piston once i remove and observe the one that is in the car right now. So that part goes between the hand brake and that piston??where abouts located in the transmission?? and is that to fit the purpose of disengaging the transmission while the hand brake is engaged??
thanks again for all your help
Denis

The brake band is one of two inside the transmission, stops the outside of a series of planetary gears for shifting ratios. Search B2 piston etc.

Where is it located at what side of the transmission body or fluid pan? In the mean time i am searching for it here so i can find some more info
