Does anyone have this book? Is it worth buying?

Subj says it all

Looks interesting, has to be more accurate and useful than the "124 Owner's Bible" (also a Bently publication).

I have it. It's not a manual. Most of it is questions by readers answered by experts. It's kinda like reading forum archives only with one condensed response to each question. Kind of fun to read and you might be able to consult it if you're having trouble, but I don't know if I'd buy it again.

Sixto you cracked me up.

Our library has the book.

I (shhhh) photo copied several sections that would be applicable to my car.

Wanna rebuild a turbo? It's in there.
Tips changing oil. Yup.

So from the common to the exotic there is good stuff in there.

Maybe it would be easier than keeping all of these old copies of The Star around, ...

X2

I have because it came with one of my cars when I bought it. If you like getting off the computer and still reading about MBs, then it might be worthwhile. It's a compilation of articles from "The Star" - there are some interesting articles: fixing the shift light indicator, advanced repair of Becker radios, refurbishing cruise control actuator, etc. Essential reading . . . . before the internet and forum.

Dose it actually have the Bearing Clearances, end play, side play and the Proper Torque for the Shaft Nut (and the procedure for that)?

I have spent a lot of internet searching for the above. Examples I have found turbo rebuild threads that have different ways of torquing the Shaft nut and even one thread where the guy just tightened the nut to no specific torque.

I have a copy and found it useful to learn about the models which I had not previously owned or driven, to get a more well-rounded idea of certain models.

It's not meant as a comprehensive repair guide, but it does have a lot of useful info, depending on the model you have.

I think that between whunter and a few others on here, there would be more information available than you could put in 10 volumes of the book in question !!
