W201 190D steel injector line interchangeability

So I want to replace 3 steel injector lines on my '84 190D 2.2, OM 601.911, the lines are filed down from rubbing together from engine vibration due to failed plastic clips.

My question is will the lines from a 190D 2.5 fit the 190D 2.2?

Thanks,
Taylor

The first four lines (from the front) are shared between the 601, 602 and 603 engines. #5 is shared between the 602 and 603 engines. CAVEAT! Injection lines are different between vertical and inclined injection systems. They can be made to work but reshape at your own risk.

That was a heck of a long yes :)

Thanks sixto! What do you mean by vertical and inclined injection systems? :)

All early 601/2/3s have injectors that pretty much stand straight up. Later engines have the injectors visibly tilted and there are internal differences leading to an oblique spray pattern that improves performance and emissions. Because the injectors are tilted or inclined, early injector lines don't quite meet properly but can be made to work, and vice versa with late injector lines and early injection positioning.

The cut among US 603 models is straightforward - 86 and 87 are early, 90 to 95 are late. I don't know if or when the cut was made for US 602 models. They might all be inclined from 86 to 93. 90 to 93 602 models are definitely inclined. All US 601 models are early.

1986/87/88 OM602.911 NA used standard injection and 1987 OM 602.962 Turbo used inclined injection
