Mercedes 1983 Turbo Diesel, already running on BioDiesel. 260,000 mile Engine would be great for WVO conversion. Starts right up, no excessive smoke. I expect someone with Mercedes knowledge will come buy this car for the engine... and use the chassis to roll the engine to their shop?

The engine crossmember is broken on the drivers side and very stressed out on the non-drivers side. See photos. THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!!! No accidents or anything, just potholes seem to be what killed this crossmember to much repeated stress is my best guess. (AKA highway 880)

I can deliver in the east bay area if near to Emeryville. The crossmember has been braced with high tension cable and is lightly drive-able at this time.

It will either need alot of welding and reinforcement or you should scrap it for parts. Whatever you do TAKE THE WHOLE CAR ONLY.

MAKE OFFER via Email, Thanks.

looks like a 617 valve cover & w123 front end. Would be interesting to know how they managed to brake the LCA mount off. Especially on that side. Maybe a dodgy crash repair in its past.

I drive my car down roads 100 miles a day that would make offroading seem gentle, and I have yet to have a single component fail on my suspension. There is something fishy going on there....

If the motor is good, that's all that matters. He's not selling the car for someone to hop intoa DD. He's selling it for parts or for someone with some expertise to exercise their magic onto it.

Doggone it! I just realized a typo. I meant the SD thinks it's a 210.

Wow!--Thats just mad!

Ive had some Real old rot-boxes over the years, but never seen any issues with that component or the X-members...
Usual things are floor-pans, sills, inner wheel-arches doors, wings--in fact everything BUT that part!

Does seem Summit rather strange there!

Possible crash-damage that was never seen at the time and has failed much worse since....

That SD is going to have to slim down quite a bit to think it's a 201...

I don`t quite follow the 210 and SD.

that break looks like fresh metal, nothing rusty, that is if Iam looking at it right. something had to stress it to do that. X2, probably some prior damage. really don`t think 880 caused that.

210 spring perches are prone to tearing off though usually because of corrosion.
