Quick 1985 617 EGR Delete question

Looking at this diagram, where does the hose from item 85 (vent filter) go?

I follow it up to the grommet in the firewall and into the cabin...then where?

I have everything removed that needs to be up to and including the vent filter, but now I just have this hose hanging out there. It does not affect anything that I can tell, but am curious none the less.

Thanks.

85 runs through the firewall to under the dash. Its a vent only, mine had a filter right before it went through the firewall.

Thanks, I mean what does it go to once it runs into the firewall.

What is it hooked to inside the cabin?

Nothing, It just ends.

There are lots of good threads on here for removing or disconnecting those components. Diagrams and all.

It also vents the VCV, item 65. If you pull it out, the VCV gets underhood air rather than cabin air.

Your choice.

The first thing to note is that the vacuum control valve for the IP also vents into the cabin, don't know if the two lines are connected or separate. Feel free to disconnect and remove the vacuum (plugging vacuum lines as you go) and vent lines around the EGR, vacuum converter, etc., but try not to remove anything that may affect the operation of the other systems. If the vents are separate you shouldn't have any problem removing. I don't know if it is secured to anything under the dash.

Don't forget to plug your ARV vacuum control line to the turbo. You will get a noticeable bump in low end power.

The VCV valve was never hooked up to this in the first place. Maybe a PO rearranged stuff???

In my engine compartment a line comes from the firewall to the vent filter, then straight out to behind the passenger headlight to the EGR stuff. I'm not sure how it was originally set up, but the tranny is shifting great, and always has.

Since I have removed everything I did plug the ARV and EGR and taped up the two connectors that went to the EGR stuff up front.
