Welcome to the forum, you will no doubt find lots of good information here. I just finished this job on my '95, so let me know if you have any questions. You can also find a couple good delivery valve DIY write ups under the "Resources" tab at the top of the page (then click on "DIY Articles"). The copper washers and o-rings are cheap - you can get them here or from a dealer. Buy yourself a couple cans of cheap brake cleaner for blasting the crap off of everything before you get started. You can probably also buy the tool here - or rent it from anther member (check your messages ). You will definately need a torque wrench for this job. Good luck.

You can request MB dealer parts from the folks at the The Buy Parts -> FastLane link at the top of the page. Dealer parts without having to deal with a dealer.

Do a search on the recommended torque process for delivery valve holders. The 602/603 FSM has a one step method that sometimes results in leaks. The TDM and 604/605 FSM has a 3-step method that's less prone to leaks and is less work than throwing salt over your shoulder. IIRC the process is tighten to 22 lbft, release, tighten to 22 lbft release, tighten to 26 lbft. I'm not heading your way to fix it if it leaks so confirm those numbers!

Sixto is right on - I just did this last night and those are the numbers.

30 nm then loosen, 30 nm then loosen, final torque is 35 nm

OR converting from newton meters to foot pounds . . .

22 ftlb then loosen, 22 ftlb then loosen, final torque is 26 ftlb

FYI

OM60_series IP delivery valve reseal
OM60_series IP delivery valve reseal

Installation note:
To ensure that the seals of the delivery valve holders are correctly located, tighten the delivery valve holder to 30 Nm and slacken, once again tighten to 30 Nm and slacken, and tighten finally to 35 Nm.
